This 266sqm home draws on modern Mediterranean influences the client encountered while overseas — a vision brought to life through a close collaboration between RP Builders and Mote Design. The result is a residence with strong street presence and a unique style that suits its rural Taranaki setting.
The four-bedroom layout includes two ensuites and a main bathroom, with raised bulkhead ceilings adding volume to the living and lounge areas. A Jetmaster 700 open wood fire anchors the lounge, complemented by ducted air conditioning throughout and underfloor heating in all bathrooms.
Curved windows—a defining feature of the design—required custom-made framing and interior architraves, a detail that gives the home its distinctive character. Exterior windows and doors are finished with Rockcote surrounds, while timber joinery and woodgrain entry doors bring warmth to the exterior.
